As a newly appointed Strategic Director at Camsford Water the candidate is responsible for drafting a Strategic Direction Paper, using performance and other data sources to: identify organisational priorities; highlight opportunities and strategies for meeting objectives; evaluate potential risks.

Strategic Manager – Community Renew Trust

Fictious ‘Community Renew Trust’ (CRT) is one of several independent UK Charitable Trusts which work in partnership with Landfill Operators (LO) to improve the lives and environments of communities living near a UK landfill site.

As newly appointed Strategic Operations Director, the candidate must draft their observations from the data supplied to inform next month’s first ‘Change Agenda’ management team meeting. Requirements are to provide an evaluation of strengths, risks, compliance issues, opportunities, trends or predictions, performance gaps and proposals, plans or solutions.

Strategic Manager – Soda-Brew

Fictitious soft-drink brand ‘Soda-Brew’ is facing numerous challenges both internally and within an industry context. As it struggles to maintain its identity and ethical position, the candidate, as a newly appointed Strategic Executive, needs to find a way to balance external pressures and safe-guard its future. With various sources of data as a basis, the candidate will respond to their new CEO on issues related to efficiency, risk, morale and change.

Video/ Telephone Roleplay

The role-play requires the candidate to read through a scenario and make notes before conducting a video/ telephone call to discuss the issues. There is an option to conduct this discussion via video call if preferred.

Strategic Manager – Camsford Water

The candidate will be tasked with identifying immediate and wider-ranging issues and determining a way forward to satisfy a range of agendas. The candidate will be expected to explore various opportunities for improvement and create solutions to the issues raised.

Strategic Manager – Community Renew Trust

Overview

As a newly appointed Strategic Operations Manager at CRT the candidate must address under-performance in their team and any wider impacts which may have been the result.

A concern has been raised regarding a co-worker by one of the members of their team. The meeting with the individual is not a formal fact-finding investigation, but the candidate does need to establish the facts, explore wider implications, address the issues presented and discuss proposals for longer term improvements.
